RivCo-DPSS - 2023 Adoption Day
Filmed using three Sony FX3 cameras, various lenses, a drone, and four shotgun mics, and edited on Adobe Creative Suite
I filmed the Adoption Day event at the historic Riverside Courthouse. This all-day event presented many technical and artistic challenges that I had to address quickly. Operating three cameras with multiple lenses, managing four microphones for live sound recording, and performing fast setups and rearrangements between cases in a fast-paced, live setting were all part of the process. My goal was to capture the heartwarming moments of children being adopted, which were filled with joy and emotion. This work was recognized as outstanding by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and I received a certificate of appreciation along with an Emmy nomination
RivCo-DPSS - 2024 IHSS Recruitment
Filmed using my personal Sony a6500 DSLR camera and an overhead microphone composited in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
This recording was an assignment from the DPSS-CBT department to assess my ability to manage the entire production process with limited resources. I researched, wrote the script, and loaded it into a teleprompter, which was beautifully narrated by my talented friend Laura Walker. The video was shot in front of a green screen using my Sony a6500 and a basic shotgun microphone recorded to a Tascam DR-60 MKII. The footage was processed in Adobe After Effects and Premiere, with audio processed in Audition. I created a series of original graphics in Adobe Photoshop and incorporated a series of stock videos for visual enhancements.
RivCo-DPSS- CBT Microsoft Outlook Custom Signature Tutorial
Created using Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Snagit and Photoshop
At the request of the HR department for the CBT officer position demo, I have crafted this concise tutorial to demonstrate my skills in producing a comprehensive, step-by-step video guide on creating an elegant and sophisticated Microsoft Outlook signature. The tutorial is structured into three sections:
- The creation of an elegant, sophisticated electronic signature using Microsoft Word templates.
- How to import that signature into Microsoft Outlook.
- Proper usage guidance for our beautiful custom Outlook signature.
I conducted research, authored the text, provided narration in my own voice, utilized After Effects for 2D and 3D motion graphics, utilized Audition for sound recording, sound effects, and mastering, used Adobe Premiere for video editing, and Snagit for screen capturing.
RivCo-DPSS - Child Abuse Prevention Month Podcast
Created using Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition, and Photoshop
This is a 20-minute podcast, along with others I’ve produced, recorded using a Zoom H6 to capture our two hosts and two guest expert speakers on four separate tracks. I applied noise reduction, EQ, de-essing, and compression, and mixed them down to a stereo track. Following this, I mastered the audio with additional EQ and compression to meet podcasting standards. Simultaneously, I photographed the guests, hosts, and settings. Using After Effects, I created original graphics, a slideshow, and waveforms to add motion to the recording. Finally, all assets were assembled in Adobe Premiere. This combination of impactful visuals and high-quality audio made the podcast appealing to the audience.
RivCo-DPSS-Three-Point Lighting
Created using Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition and Photoshop
This tutorial explains what three-point lighting is and how to properly incorporate it for photography and videography. Exclusively created for DPSS staff development, it serves as a comprehensive guide for photographers and videographers at all levels. In this video, I conducted thorough research, authored the text, provided the narration with my own voice, crafted sophisticated 3D and 2D animations, and incorporated numerous additional visual effects. Illustrations, video shots, and the overall creation process contribute to a tutorial filled with advanced visual effects.
RivCo-DPSS-Medi-Cal Renewal Fridays (English)
Created using Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition and Photoshop
I created this public announcement video for the Riverside County Department of Public Services in both English and Spanish. The event was Medi-Cal Renewal Fridays and was filmed amidst loud construction noise, harsh sunlight, and poor lighting inside the van. Through advanced post-production processes, I successfully removed the construction noise, brightened the faces of the technicians, color corrected all the video footage, and matched all the lighting. Additionally, I created a motion graphics opener and motion titles using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, and edited all the media elements in Adobe Premiere.

AACN's Annual Report 2022

This example demonstrates the creation of a video packed with advanced visual effects. The photos that were incorporated into the visual effects were ordinary static images, mostly taken by cell phones, which were corrected and prepped in Photoshop, then composited in Adobe After Effects. Although the sound portion of this video may seem simple, a lot of advanced and highly specialized work has gone into it. To name a few: audio restoration of poor quality narration, pacing its speed, creation of music tracks, incorporation of sound effects, loudness correction, mixing, EQing, and audio mastering.
